Through Her Eyes: Finally Seeing (Or Not) Paramore

so as far as my friends would know, i have been a huge fan of paramore for years, since seventh grade to be exact. and last year was finally the time for me to watch them live. that night was too amazing to be put down into words, needless to say, it is one of what people call "times when you feel so alive". i wish they could have played Looking Up though. but anyway, i was really, really disappointed by a thing by which i was surprised to find myself become so angry with the crowd and i cant hold this back within my mind.

concerning i am not near the hype as i had back in 11th grade of paramore, the moment i landed my feet within the crowd in the middle, i was TOTALLY okay, because:

1. i indeed did not manage to line up for the first row

2. because people in front of me were shorter than me so i could clearly see the stage and perceived the band members too

but then it was damn thrilling the second the band was up on stage and playing the first song because people in front of me started lifting their hands up WITH THEIR PHONES. i would swear i could not even see AN INCH OF HAYLEY from my spot. and that was the first time i felt so annoyed by the atmosphere of a gig.

i mean, i paid a million worth of money to see my favourite band playing a live show, not through your phones' screens. like seriously, what are you guys up to? stories for that highlight feature on instagram? of course i know its people's choices and no one can be in charge for telling what to who. i am just saying, it is so sad for those who come all the way here to truthfully enjoy the music yet they end up looking at phone screens and flashlights rather than the band itself.

as if this is ever going to be some famous last words:

put your devices down and feel the reality of every second of the life itself. (for this case; gigs or any events for that matter) live it now. you might miss the true pleasure. or even worse, you might push off the true pleasure from anyone else who is seeking it.

Mount Papandayan: Stars Hunting & Edelweiss

Mount Papandayan, one of the most visited mountains in West Java area, really offers wonderful night sky scenery. I have heard lots of people talking here and there about its dead forest, edelweiss, but they rarely bring up so much about the its night sky experience.

I went to Papandayan with my friend in August. It took us less than 2 hours, walking through the sulfur carter while also taking pictures along the way, to finally reach Pondok Saladah, an area where you are allowed to camp. Before reaching Pondok Saladah, there is one small area called Gober Hut. That time the locals first told us that we could enjoy the sunrise from there too. We decided to take a look and yes, you can see the landscape covering Mount Tangkuban Parahu from there and you will see some space enough for about ten camps. But we decided not to camp there because we thought the area was still new so we just did not want to give it a try (hehe) and we would like to be around other people's camps.

Putting all the camping details aside, we started my stars hunting session after cooking and eating dinner, around 9 o'clock. It was really really cold out there but the second i tilt my head up to the sky, was the moment that successfully trapped me speechless.

Getting through the night sleeping and freezing, i spent the next morning in dead forest. I woke up at about 4.30 am then took prayer first o:). Then we went straight out of camp and start the unexpected struggles to find our ways to dead forest in darkness. We arrived just in time to not miss the sunrise!

After spending about 1-2 hours in dead forest, we then went back to the camp to cook some breakfast and pack up our stuff. Before continuing our story, there is something i would like to say to all the humans beings out there, especially the ones going back to nature:

BRING YOUR TRASH AND PUT THEM IN THE RIGHT PLACE!

First of all, the place is not yours and you seriously never have the right to litter. It is already your good fortune to be allowed to come and see the beauty of mother nature, so please leave it as the one you would love to see in the first place. So after all things are packed, we continued our walk to Tegal Alun. Actually, you would have already met edelweiss when you stroll around Pondok Saladah, because there are some bushes spread over the area. But not wanting to skip a thing, we decided to continue hiking all the way up to give Tegal Alun a look, a large area full of edelweiss bushses!

Always remember what mother nature say:

TAKE NOTHING BUT PICTURES!

EDELWEISS EVERYWHERE!!! (with our twin carriers aimlessly sitting there)

And yes, that's it. A one night camp in Papandayan was enough for us. Not too far, not too high, yet what an incredible short vacay with many great experiences it has given us!

From our journey:

I recommend spending half of your day doing photo hunting session in dead forest then continue your walk to to fulfill your craving for Edelweiss in Tegal Alun. I guess it would be better and easier if you don't go up there bringing your carrier because its path is just not that smooth and might need more portion of your energy.
If you are planning on doing stars hunting then pick a place near the area where you can see the sky clearly because it is dang cold out there and trust me the first thing you want to do after all the hunting stuff is to run straight to your camp

Mengintip Sebagian Kecil Seni Di Jogja

Prof. Ki Amri Yahya No. 1 (dekat SMAN 1 Jogja).

SARANG BUILDING ART SPACE

I am looking forward!

Unacquainted Clarity

i have gone through years of standing upon the land of confidence i took after myself, i was deep in thought about holding a diamond covered by the sea of sand, my head hijacked by the thought of holding on to the right thing when apparently and may soon be actually, it may be the thing preventing me from seeing the real side of it.

it might be the thing that had been the clouds hiding my eyes from the sun, or i might just choose not to look through it, or i might be just stuck in between.

i have gone through years ignoring, never listening, looking away, walking straight, how much of a master of such a selfish gene i was, in the weakest part of my head there grew a consolation that became firmer in every second flown. i have gone through years of living under my own justification of something that seems right in my perception, i have screamed loud enough just to get empty echoes, i have run fast enough to find myself lost in the back of the line. none of the words addressed to me has ever made an inch of my force, my persistence born as a compensation for my own grief. so many true selves i have missed in my calculation, so many clear thoughts i have passed across without considering.

~

now, everything looks so vague in my sight, nothing appears as obvious as a drop of water in the desert, nor a tree in the pasture. it seems like i’m leaving my only piece of paper blank, and there’s a part in my heart — a part in which conviction survives all along, where i am, in complete sovereignty, the winner of my own contemplation — that has been left vacant, stuck within riot deep inside my mind. it is hard for me to keep my consciousness straight, and it is even harder for my cognition to prevail over my desire.

i am in a ship headed nowhere,

i have gone through years of being fine upon a lie i weave to myself. i am a wrong within all the rights, i am a crime leaving good deeds covered up, split up, buried down, by such a discernible fault i am, they all sink. i am a clock ticking too many times in front of an intersection, with ways i can never imagine, with continuance i am too scared of facing, with an uncertain chance for me to declare triumph walking by my side along the road. the sustainable steps taken sound like another complement to my indescribable vocation.

..but, not even for a second now, will i swim deep into hesitation, not even a single spark will get in the way of what might be my spectrum of confidence. to sail alone in the width of such an endless sea of obvious nescience, is not a thing you would have a glimpse in your mind, to live alone in the world of obscurity is a thing you wish would never cross your head in the wake of the day, nor cross your stars in the wake of the moon.

like the sun that rises at the end of the ocean, a light that appears at the end of a cave, i have seen a clue beyond all the messes my head has made to date, it may not be a handful, but enough to lead a way for me to catch a sight on the other face of the world.
i am now the winner of my own fear.

Through Her Eyes: Global Warming

On your bicycle you explore every block in the neighbourhood, the afternoon weather making you lost in serenity, you didn't want the darken sky to bring you back home. Or some other times, you just made yourself go down the road and stepped into the local park, you never loved walking that much. There was a certain happiness that made you smile at the end of the day, a kind you didn't know you would be losing by time. And when the sun started rising and the sound of interfering alarm from your mom's voice began ringing, the sunlight was warm enough to wake you up. Remember how the morning breeze felt so soothing? What a great way to start off a journey. You never had spirit that much.

---

Now, people, look around.

Look how crowded the roads are, the wheels barely move, you only have to hit the brake.

Try to think again; lots of vehicles then lots of gas emissions.

1. Heat-Trapping Gasses

Fossil fuels are not only used in transportation, but also in electricity generation, and industrial processes.Gasses such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxides, and halocarbons are primarily produced by human activities. These gasses are surely needed to prevent the earth's temperature from going zero, but what happens now is that there is too much of it that it only makes the earth overheating.

Gasses emitted from fossil fuels do have negative impacts on environment -- despite they demand great costs for reducing -- they cause air pollution. In that way, those gasses directly affecting people's health, bringing them breathing problems. Even worse, these gasses are one of the reasons behind the rise of the earth's temperature, because they work in such a way that prevents the heat from going back out of the atmosphere, causing the earth to gets warmer. (than ever!). read more

Have you ever taken a second to glance at your left or right side on (some) highways and look just how green they are? or simply on parks in your town, on the sidewalks.. the trees are making the air feels mild.
Now they are gone, you find yourself sweating.

2. Green Plants Inadequacy

Trees are really needed on this planet, those beings are playing an important role as the earth's lungs. As simple as converting carbon dioxides to oxygens, if all forests in the world unite together then what a really amazing job they are doing. Since humans are still careless about their environment, they keep producing carbon dioxides (mostly) on their (every day) traffic jams, and the most helping weapons we can have to fight it back are trees.

But no creatures have been more greedy than humans, i suppose, they don't even think of the solutions for the problems they make. Instead of planting trees, they burn the forests instead. (I don't think i can ever understand this kind of thing humans do). See this size of deforestation in 21st century.

The sun we know is still the sun we knew, but this sunlight -- how long have we locked ourselves in arctic to finally found it so hot and start burning our skin? Is this earth we step on going okay with this? No.

3. Temperature Rise

Based on the data released by NASA, and from what i read from National Climatic Data Center; even though it is different in every region, but the globally-averaged temperature in March - May 2015 across land surfaces and world's oceans is the largest on record. (ncdc.noaa.gov)

"The end result is that the temperature trends over the past 17 or so years has continued to increase with no halt. In fact, it has increased at approximately the same rate as it had for the prior five decades." (theguardian.com)

The rise of the earth's temperature is really, really bad. The cute looking polar bears, they are losing their habitats. As the icebergs in arctic start melting, it brings the world to another problem, the rise of sea level. You do know that two-third part of the world is covered by water, have you ever imagined being drown in a really great flood just as wide as an ocean? It is definitely not a good occasion.

---

On my bicycle i track down the streets of my town, the air i breathe resembles smoke - maybe too much - and the wind doesn't familiarly wash my face off anymore. As the sun starts hiding itself, the sound of horns and empty yells only make me want to rush home as fast as 3 x 10⁸ m/s². Sidewalks don't look better though, treated badly by those careless hands. I never hate walking this much. When the morning comes to greet me, seems like it has no way of giving me sparks like it used to, i am fine not going anywhere. I never lose spirit this much.

This place - this earth - is not the same place we knew years back then. Gaze into those memories again, and think, how much are you missing that smell of twilight? So distinctive. This is the place we spend every second of our lives and our children' too. How are we going to see it breaking down in hands of the selfish?

Now, people, are you going to keep sitting calm there, or even walk away leaving your burdens far behind your shadows of what you're not supposed to bring off? Well, it is an absolute shameless thing to do.
